Anthony J. Viola is a Professor of English at Marshall University where he teaches literature and creative writing. He received his Ph.D. in Creative Writing at Ohio University and has taught at the University of Kentucky. His short fiction publications have appeared in Pleiades: A Journal of New Writing, Gulf Coast, The Connecticut Review, Aethlon: Journal of Sports Literature, and South Dakota Review (forthcomining). One story was listed in “100 Other Distinguished Stories,” Best American Short Stories and another story received a Pushcart Prize nomination.
The Law of Devil’s Land is his third novel. His second novel, All Lies Begin With Truth is also available through Black Rose Wrtiing. His first novel, The Art of Death, is available through KDP (Amazon). He has finished a draft of the second book in The Law of Devil’s Land trilogy and will have that manuscript finalized soon. In his spare time, he likes to read, swim, watch sports and stream movies and TV shows. He also enjoys word puzzles and loves exploring new places and is intrigued with "new things," things that have never been seen, tried, or attempted. Born and raised in New York, West Virginia is the sixth state he has lived in along with Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Ohio, and Kentucky. He lives in Huntington, WV, with his two cats, Lena and Frankie.
